Check it out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rHB_EErMKc Whitney Godwin graduated from the West Virginia University Reed College of Media in 2011 with her BSJ degree. During her time at WVU, she served as a Feature Twirler for the Pride of West Virginia, the Mountaineer Marching Band and worked in sports production for the Mountaineer Sports Network. Upon graduation, she worked for NIOSH and the CDC shooting and editing research videos while completing her MSJ at WVU. Whitney currently works in Public Relations at WVU as a Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator. Additionally, Whitney works in sports production as a freelance replay operator for WVU Athletics as well as other major networks including Root Sports. Bob DeFillippo is an adjunct professor at New York University’s School of Professional Studies, where he teaches graduate courses in Strategic Communications, Crisis Communications and Critical Business Skills for Communicators. He is also a member of the Roxbury Township Council. He recently retired after 21 years as Chief Communications Officer for Prudential Financial, Inc., where he led the Global Communications Department and oversaw Prudential’s public relations and internal communications around the world. Before joining Prudential in January 1994, DeFillippo served as Director of Public Affairs for the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). Prior to that, he was press secretary to Congressman Hamilton Fish, Jr., following a 10-year career as an award-winning reporter and editor. He serves on the boards of the National Press Foundation in Washington, D.C., the Arthur W. Page Society, where is also treasurer, and the PRSA Foundation. In addition, he is a member of the National Press Club. Susan is a multiple New Jersey Press Association and JSPRAA award-winning writer who regularly covers health, food, human interest, and business topics for such well-known publications as The Star-Ledger, The Asbury Park Press, The Courier News, The Home News Tribune, The Daily Record, New Jersey Monthly Magazine, Inside Jersey Magazine, Natural Awakenings, Jersey Bites, the New York Daily News, and USA Today in addition to numerous trade periodicals. Susan has interviewed everyone from doctors and dignitaries to chefs and celebrities, including domestic diva Martha Stewart, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, NBA Hall of Famer Bill Walton, Dancing With the Stars’ Cheryl Burke, celebrity chefs Rocco DiSpirito and Carla Hall, New York Times best-selling author Elizabeth Gilbert ("Eat Pray Love"), and media mogul Ariana Huffington. She is also a radio personality and a regular guest/talk show co-host on 1450 WCTC in New Brunswick. Melissa Roberts is the Planning and Assignment Editor at News 12 New Jersey. Previously she wrote and managed News12.com as the Interactive Producer. A graduate of Roxbury High School, she spent several summers as a photojournalist for news outlets such as WVIR-TV, the Roxbury Register and the Daily Record before earning her Bachelor’s degree from James Madison University. She began her career at CNN World Headquarters in Atlanta, working through the ranks for 11 years to a position on the National Desk. She also worked on the Assignment Desk at CBS Atlanta before coming back “home” to New Jersey in 2013. Melissa’s work at CNN earned her a National Emmy in 2002, followed by Peabody Awards for Hurricane Katrina coverage in 2005 and Presidential Election coverage in 2008. Primary responsibilities at News 12 include corresponding with PR, communications and marketing representatives and seeking out story ideas. She also assigns news crews for day to day and extended coverage throughout the state. Melissa is proud to be raising a family in Roxbury and looks forward to helping future grads achieve careers in journalism, communications or PR. Nicholas Kral is a filmmaker and graduate of Randolph High School and Montclair State University. His specialties include directing, editing, and gaffing along with experience in a variety of post-production applications including but not limited to Davinci Resolve, After Effects, Pro Tools, Premiere, Final Cut, and Avid Media Composer. Nicholas has worked on a variety of student, independent, and professional sets, most notably and recently though, on esteemed dancer and choreographer Heidi Latsky's film, Soliloquy. Nicholas also was the editor of Roxbury High School's most recent production of the Every 15 Minutes program.
Olivia Fitzsimons, Editor-in-Chief of aurathirtytwo.com. Aura32 is a website that functions as an outlet for creatives to establish their voice. Olivia is a freshman at Temple, but she started this website in the summer before her junior year. Though it began as a hobby, she recently monetized the site, and has been working hard to build her brand. Olivia and an international team of 20 others have been actively creating content (writing, photography, interviews, and graphics) for both the website and a variety of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. High school graduates of Roxbury get together to speak about their first year in college. They will share their experiences about getting involved and pursuing their majors. Fred J. Aun is the owner and editor of TAP into Roxbury (www.tapintoroxbury.com), an online news site focusing on Roxbury Township. It is one of about 45 similar hyperlocal sites in the TAPinto.net family. Fred, who has a bachelor's degree in communication/journalism from William Paterson University, began writing professionally while still in college. After graduating, he found himself covering several towns in Morris County, including Roxbury, for the defunct Daily Advance.
Fred subsequently worked for The New Jersey Herald in Sussex County, NJ, the Times Herald-Record in Orange County, N.Y. and The Star-Ledger, where he was part of the Morris/Sussex/Warren edition. Fred left the Ledger in 2000, taking a job with a Ziff-Davis Media trade publication focused on computer resellers.In 2001, he began a freelance career that has included copywriting and Web content creation as well as news writing for a diverse group of clients including The Star-Ledger, for whom he served as an outdoors sports columnist until 2010. |

Tim Guellat is the Director of Social Media for Centenary University’s Social Media Center of Expertise | #theVIBE. Within this role, Tim oversees #theVIBE’s two modern technology centers in Hackettstown NJ & Parsippany NJ. #theVIBE’s Social Media Marketing Program is the first of its kind in the tri-state area. Tim's experience building online brands for companies large and small helped to shape #theVIBE into a cutting edge program. Through his leadership, #theVIBE’s Social Media Marketing Program has become a top program at Centenary and students have worked with 50+ organizations. Tim holds a MBA and a B.A. in History from Centenary University. Born and raised in Roxbury, Michael takes great pride in working for his hometown paper and loves that he gets to learn more about the people and places of Morris County every day. He's been associated with the Daily Record in some way for more than half of his life. His first paid writing job came when he was 12 years old, as a movie critic for the teen section of the newspaper. After graduating from Syracuse University in 2012, following a brief stint as an entertainment writer in New York City, he has been back writing for the Daily Record ever since. |
